This tall vintage, art-deco chifforobe or wardrobe dresser features a left-hand cabinet door and a column of drawers on the right, showcasing classic early- to mid-20th-century design elements. A striking chevron (or herringbone) veneer pattern covers much of the door and drawer fronts. Along the top edge and base, there are additional bands of intricately inlaid or contrasting veneers.
The large door on the left spans most of the piece’s height. When opened, it reveals storage for clothing or bedding. The veneer on this door is arranged in a dramatic “V” or arrow pattern that emphasizes the grain.
On the right side are several stacked drawers. The uppermost section has a carved crest or shield-like motif, framed by smaller geometric or basketweave inlay. Each drawer is adorned with ornate brass or gold-tone pulls, some featuring an openwork design in the center.
The top has gently rounded front edges, often referred to as a “waterfall” style in Depression-era furniture. A horizontal inlaid band runs just beneath that rounded top. While the bottom edge has a shaped, scalloped skirt, with short carved feet that mirror the flowing lines of the top.
Overall, the piece combines decorative veneer work, carved accents, and elaborate hardware—typical of Art Deco or Depression-era “waterfall” furniture, made to stand out with its bold patterns and stylish silhouette.
